Curriculum

Ku-ring-gai Creative Arts High School addresses the emerging needs of young adults in Years 7 to 12. It is a co-educational institution, providing a wide range of opportunities for boys and girls to learn together in caring creative environment. Fostering a strong working relationship between students, teachers and parents, the School emphasizes mutual respect and a desire to achieve.

The School also offers a unique Year 7 teaming structure with smaller class sizes and a comprehensive support system to support students in their transition from primary to high school.

All Years follow the curriculum set by the Board of Studies leading to the award of the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate.

Years 7 - 10 follow a curriculum consisting of:

  • Mandatory Board of Studies requirements in all Key Learning Areas
  • Two elective courses, Years 9 – 10
  • A NOVA creative arts course

Years 11 - 12 follow a curriculum consisting of:

  • A comprehensive range of courses leading to the award of the HSC taught at the school, VET and TAFE VET courses
  • Extensive courses which enable students to work beyond the standard of the HSC course are available in English, Mathematics, History and Music.
