KCAHS enjoys excellent community support from parents and have collaboratively worked with staff to ensure an outstanding learning environment is established for our students. Parents new to Ku-ring-gai: Our school P&C host a “Welcome to New Parents Night” early in Term 1. The school also organises parent/teacher evenings and information nights. P & C Association: This is a forum in which parents and citizens of the school and community can deliberate on matters relating to the educational, social and financial welfare of the school community. The P & C is lead by an elected parent representative and supported by a committee of dedicated parents who strive together with the Principal and Executive of KCAHS to maintain high standards for your child. Debbie Barnes - Vice President Gabrielle Smith - Vice President Maxine Jollye - Treasurer Christella George - Secretary The P & C meets once a month on the second Monday of the month at 7pm in the Staff Study Area (Upper Level, Tagore Block). Creative Arts Association: The objective of this committee is to work together with the Creative Arts Staff at KCAHS and provide support in the form of volunteer, fund raising and promotion of KCAHS. Parents are able to become involved in Productions, Art Exhibitions, Talent Quests, Concerts, Fundraising Events and many other facets of our school. The Creative Arts Committee meet once a term, the third Monday evening at 7.30pm in the Eason Room, Tagore Block. School Canteen: The Canteen is open every school day and staffed by Managers and volunteer parents. The canteen has adopted the Healthy Canteen Guidelines from DET and offers weekly specials, and a range of healthy food options for students, as well as having a breakfast available. The Canteen is a great venue for parents to help the school and interact with the students on a daily basis. |
