Criteria and Procedure for Local Enrolment Application As Criteria and Procedure for Non-Local Enrolment Application When completing applications prospective enrolments should consider the following criteria as established by the Schools Placement Panel. The panel is made up of the Principal, Deputy Principals, Year Advisers and a parent representative. An offer of enrolment in the school will be made to students who: - demonstrate outstanding academic ability, as determined through participation in the school’s Assessment for Class Placement. For 2010 this assessment will take place at the school on Tuesday 10th March, 2009. Further details of this assessment are available from the school.
- demonstrate outstanding ability and commitment in the Creative Arts including; Dance, Music, Drama, and/or Visual Arts. Students seeking enrolment under this criterion will need to provide a portfolio outlining their creative arts ability to support the application.
- demonstrate commitment to school studies in all subject areas.
- have a satisfactory record of school participation and conduct.
Other considerations are: - Availability and combinations of subjects
- School Structure and organisation
- Special Circumstances
- Siblings already enrolled at the school
- Proximity and access to the school
Entry based on the above criteria is competitive and applicants are required to provide specific relevant information in relation to the criteria listed to support their application. In addition, copies of recent school reports, Basic Skills Test results and/or NAPLAN results should also be provided. All of the above criteria are considered and all nine criteria are taken into account by the placement panel. Preference is given to those applicants who address a number of the criteria with at least one being either criterion 1 or 2. In assessing the criteria in relation to individual applications, the panel considers only those matters presented in the application form and not oral or other submissions. To be considered for enrolment as an out-of-area application, applicants must have their application verified by their Primary School Principal in terms of any supporting documentation. |
